Volunteer for National Public Lands Day

REI is partnering with Michigan DNR, Friends of Island Lake, Huron-Clinton Metroparks, Sierra Club, and Motor City Mountain Biking Association for a volunteer event. All volunteers should meet at 10 AM at Kensington Metropark's East Boat Launch. We will then discuss the projects, break into groups, and travel to our work sites within both Kensington Metropark and Island Lake. Volunteers will be helping with trail maintenance of Island Lake's hiking and mountain biking trails and invasive species removal at Kensington. Please be sure to dress for working outdoors (long pants, long sleeves, closed-toe shoes, rain gear, bug spray/sun screen, etc.) and bring a reusable water bottle. Also, if you have work gloves and/or hand tools such as loppers, pruners, or hand saws, please bring them. We will have a limited supply of gloves and tools on hand. At the conclusion of the workday at 1 PM, all volunteers are invited back to Kensington's East Boat Launch for a volunteer celebration with food and free t-shirts. If you do not have a Metroparks vehicle pass, please let the toll booth attendant know that you are there to volunteer for National Public Lands Day and the daily fee will be waived.

Looks like no sessions are scheduled right now. Please bookmark this page and check back soon.
