Join us for this 2 day hands-on class that focuses on how to build top rope climbing anchors. Our professional climbing instructors will cover a variety of topics including climbing knots, placing traditional climbing gear for anchors, creating and evaluating climbing anchor systems, evaluating climbing bolts, and improving your judgement so you can confidently build climbing anchors. As part of this class, you will have an opportunity to climb on the anchors you construct. This class is designed for new climbers who are transitioning to outdoor climbing, as well as experienced climbers looking to improve anchor building skills. Prerequisite: Competency with putting on a harness, belaying, and tying a figure eight retrace.

  • To learn climbing gear, knots, and its proper use in anchoring

This is a 2 day class. Each daily session will start at 8:00am and conclude at 4:00pm.

Daily Entrance Fee: $8 per vehicle/day. Take I-25 to Castle Rock, exit 184 onto Founders Parkway eastbound. Continue to Hwy 86, go east on Hwy 86 four miles towards Franktown. Turn South onto Castlewood Canyon Road and go 2.8 miles to the Park Entrance. Park in the 2nd parking area on the left.
