Wilderness First Responder Course with NOLS and REI

If you work or recreate in the outdoors or in other environments where access to medical care is delayed or communication is unreliable, this 10-day Wilderness First Responder course taught by our partners at NOLS is for you! This fast-paced, rigorous training will provide you with the tools needed to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations. Instruction will take place in classrooms and outdoor settings regardless of weather, be prepared for any condition. PLEASE NOTE: proof of a negative COVID-19 test OR verification of full vaccination is required for participation. IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR NOVEMBER: NOLS is requiring all students to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on all NOLS Wilderness Medicine courses beginning November 1, 2021. Students on courses beginning between November 1 and November 11, 2021, must have received the final vaccine dose prior to arrival at their course. Students on these courses who have not completed their two-week waiting period after receiving their final dose must submit a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the course start. Students on courses that begin on or after November 12, 2021, need to be two weeks or more past receiving the final vaccine dose prior to arrival at their course. Wilderness Medicine instructors will review student vaccination cards and/or negative COVID-19 test results at the start of the course. Please be sure to bring your vaccination card with you to your course.
