Overview

Learn the fundamentals of outdoor rock climbing in this hands-on class, ideal for beginners, gym-to-crag climbers, or those returning to the sport after a hiatus. Gain essential skills in belaying, knot tying, communication, and proper movement technique, with personalized instruction tailored by our expert guides to your unique experience level. All climbing equipment is provided.
- Learn how to belay other climbers while they're off the ground
- Learn to tie the basic climbing knots and practice good rope management
- Learn the basics of climbing movement and technique
- Practice your new skills with ample opportunities to climb multiple outdoor climbing routes
- Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult
Notes

Parking is free. Park in the Billy Goat Trail C and North Parking Area for Carderock Cliffs. Look for your guides and/or an REI van in the parking lot. They'll have gear staged and ready for you.
