Come along with our mountain guides to learn essential crevasse rescue skills that no mountaineer should be without. Discover self rescue and partner rescue techniques needed for travelling on a glacier. Topics include securing a fall, rigging a fixed line for the fallen partner to ascend, and rigging mechanical advantage systems for partner rescue. This class is appropriate for those with some previous mountaineering skills.
- Learn the practical applications of mountaineering self-rescue.
- Learn to rescue a roped teammate.
- Learn 2:1 and 6:1 mechanical advantage systems to haul fallen teammates.

Class logistic emails will be sent out the week of your class. CA SNO-PARK Passes REQUIRED for each vehicle, available for purchase at your Sacramento Area REI. A daily pass is $5 or a seasonal pass is $25.
