Overview

- Group size 8 people
The first step in your mountaineering adventure, learn skills and techniques for glacier & snow travel. Techniques will include crampon use, mountain axe use for self-arrest and self-belay, and backcountry snow travel. Discover proper nutrition, gear, clothing and well being for mountaineering endeavors.
- Learn and practice techniques to safely ascend and descend snow slopes.
- Learn and practice self-belay.
- Learn and practice self-arresting.

Class logistic emails will be sent out the week of your class. CA SNO-PARK Passes REQUIRED for each vehicle, available for purchase at your Sacramento Area REI. A daily pass is $5 or a seasonal pass is $25.
