Prepare for the unexpected in this hands-on introduction to wilderness medicine program taught by our partners at NOLS. If you work in a wilderness setting, enjoy outdoor activities or recreation opportunities, this 16-hour course is for you! Instruction will take place in classrooms and outdoor settings regardless of weather. Course completion results in a Wilderness First Aid certification. IMPORTANT: COVID-19 vaccination is required. Please bring proof of vaccination to your course. A negative COVID-19 test will not be accepted. On a case-by-case basis, NOLS may make an accommodation; please inquire directly via email@example.com.
- Understand and apply the Patient Assessment System
- Provide effective first aid treatments for common injuries and illnesses
- Learn to make appropriate evacuation decisions.
What to bring with you
This course is open to participants ages 16 and up. The course runs 8am-5pm on a Saturday and a Sunday, with an hour for lunch on each day. REI does not provide accommodations.
