Come join an REI Outdoor School Instructor on a hike in one of the Tri State's best hiking areas. Take this opportunity to pick your instructor's brain about other local hikes, secret waterfalls, beautiful open vistas and where to go on a busy weekend. We'll introduce you to local natural gems, teach you a few tips for making hiking more comfortable and to help you hike at your own pace. This hiking series covers popular classics at Bear Mountain and Harriman State Park, to lesser-known beauties in the Catskills, North Jersey, Minnewaska State Park, and even a few secrets in Westchester County, NY. Whether you're new to the trails or a seasoned pro we think you'll find these hike a memorable and fun experience.

Mass Transit: Take the NJ Transit train from Penn Station to Lautenberg Station in Secaucus. Transfer to Port Jervis bound train to Tuxedo. Walk north from train station to East Village Rd. Cross road to commuter parking lot (just off Powerhouse Lane) Group will be meeting in this lot. Driving: Just past the Tuxedo railroad station, turn right onto East Village Road, take first left into a commuter parking lot (free parking on weekends; $2.00 parking fee on weekdays).
