Colorado offers a wide variety of challenges for the mountain bike rider including steep technical climbs, rock gardens, and rugged descents. If you are eager to improve your trail riding ability, join REI for a day of focused skills instruction. Learn and practice techniques to stay on your bike longer and with confidence on steep, technical climbs and descents! Our professional instructors will provide detailed breakdowns of riding skills along with a progression of drills to help you improve your performance. This session will cover skills such as the roll-down lunge, climbing and descending dismounts, body positioning specific to variable terrain, and bike-body separation. This session will not focus on jumps or drops. Bikes and helmets are available for participants if needed, but bringing your own well-tuned bike is highly recommended for skills retention. This session is intended for experienced riders with at least one season and/or 20 hours of off-road riding experience.
