The Mountains are Calling: Forest Archaeology

June 20th, 6-7:15pm. Ever wonder what to do if you find a fossil or artifact on a hike? Join us for a presentation from the U.S. Forest Service and Cascade Volunteers. Learn from a U.S. Forest Archaeologist how they discover and protect cultural resources and artifacts in our national forests. The ranger will discuss good artifact etiquette and what kind of items usually are found out in the wilderness. The class will also explore topics like proper wilderness etiquette and go over leave-no-trace principles. You will also discover how you can join the effort and volunteer!
