Take a Hike with Ascend in beautiful Sky Meadow State Park (Virginia) to empower the women of Afghanistan and Pakistan. The hike begins and ends at Turner Pond in the park (just off Route 17). You can choose to hike a 5 k route; 10k route; a mini-hike (less than 3 miles) or all 23 miles the park has to offer. Decide the day of how far you want to hike, all registration fees are the same and come with a t-shirt! Hike at your own pace with other participants or with your team. Bring water, hat and a snack (& rain gear if rain is in the forecast). All proceeds benefit Ascend Leadership Through Athletics. Ascend will offer complimentary shuttle rides from private parking at 20634 Blue Ridge Mountain Road, Paris, VA to and from the park all day. If not taking the shuttle, carpooling is strongly encouraged. Join us the night before (Saturday, June 3) for dinner, drinks, music and comradery. Dinner location is a private home near Sky Meadow State Park. In the event of cancellation due to weather, registrations will be refunded.
