Our local waterways, from a neighborhood stream to our drinking water reservoirs, are at risk from trash buildup. Plastic bottles, grocery bags, fast-food containers, and countless other types of trash are commonly caught on streambanks or at nearby areas. Anything that flows into storm drains goes directly into the closest waterway unfiltered. Do your part to prevent this trash from continuing downstream. GVC typically offers stream clean-up events in the spring in support of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay's Project Clean Stream program, as well as in the fall as part of GVC's Better Waterways initiative.
