Greetings from Mark Dodge at the Marion County Medical Reserve Corps in Salem, Oregon.
On Saturday, July 27th as part of the Governors' Action Plan for Oregon initiaitive, our volunteers are preparing to host an outreach event we are calling the 'Blackout Buffet'. This event will be held as part of our medical standby service at the Powerland Steam-Up in Brooks, Oregon. This event draws more than 30,000 spectators over the two-weekend run.
In this event, we are planning to demonstrate options for family preparedness and would like to share samples of products such as OMEALS, Mountain House and other brands of both shelf-stable and freeze-dried meals that could be part of a family 'Go-Bag' program. Items that could be sampled might also have a coupon or other recognition card to identify that these items are available at our local REI co-op store in the Keizer Station.
Your contribution towards this outreach event would be considered an in-kind donation and as we are a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization (Friends of Marion County Citizen Corps - Oregon ID 1259119-90), the full-market value could be a charitable contribution. We will have this demonstration booth open for about 4-hours and expect between 200-300 spectators to visit us and learn about family preparedness.
