Opt To Act - Simple Action #9: Go paperless

Join REI in making the fight for life outdoors part of your life with The Opt to Act Plan - 52 weeks of simple actions to reduce your impact, get active, and leave the world better than you found it. Full details can be found here.
Week 9: Try to go paperless for one day this week.
Try using a washcloth in place of paper towels. Bring a reusable bag with you for all shopping. (Remember our tips from week two!). Ask for an email receipt rather than a printed one. Instead of a hard copy, use apps for coupons, tickets and more.
Take part: Jan. 26 - Feb. 1, 2020

But how do I go paperless from REI mail?

Hi @natechien - Thanks for bringing this question to the community! To stop receiving paper mail from REI you will need to contact our Customer Support team, who will be able to update your preferences. They can be reached at 1 (800) 426-4840 or via Live Chat

Let us know if you have any additional questions and we'll be happy to help!

Why does REI make it so hard to stop receiving the catalogue?  This is a good way to lose customers.  Please consider changing the company policy.

Hello - One of the reasons we are excited about this community is the chance to hear feedback directly from our customers. While it is not your preferred system, we hope you are able to connect with our Customer Support Team to update your mail preferences. They can be reached at 1 (800) 426-4840 or via Live Chat

We have passed along your comments regarding our mail cancellation process. Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us.

That's a terrible answer. REI needs to do better. I no longer believe REI is devoted to improving the environment.

Agreed. It is much too difficult to find and decipher how to stop receiving paper catalogues. It should be a very simple "opt out" button on one's account -- instead of having to contact Customer Support either via chat or phone.

Lol, this is not a satifactory response considering that this is an "opt to act" post and your organization makes it very inconvenient to opt out of your printed marketing materials.
