Good backpacking trips for kids and tweens in the midwest?

Any recs? They've done up to 8 miles in a day as high as 12,000 feet elevation, but with no pack. They could probably do up to 3-5 miles loaded up.

I would love some recs

Hey @Bonfire if the North Shore of Lake Superior is an option the Superior Hiking Trail would be a great choice!  It is well marked, well traveled and there are lots of options for shorter trips.  Check out www.shta.org for more information.   Have a great time!

At REI, we believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived.

@REI-LeslieN I’ll check that out! I think we are going to do the Porkies next weekend (one of my faves), but I do want to check out the Superior hiking trails. If you have any specific .Gpx files of good trips you’d recommend, hollerrrrr
