Primitive Camping areas in Lower Michigan

I’m from Lower Michigan, Fenton area. Looking for primative tent camping areas, year round preferably not camp grounds. Any info is appreciated.

Hi @Graf - Thanks for reaching out! We're hopeful some other community members familiar with Michigan will have some suggestions to pass along.

@Keviin@bryndsharp@CarlR@egreen@dirkbw - do y'all know of any good primitive camping spots in lower Michigan to pass along?

At REI, we believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived.

There are several sites along the River Loop Trail in Manistee NF. I'm hitting that in July.

I agree with what @Dad_Aint_Hip said. Other than that I haven’t seen much in lower MI, but if you get up to the UP, @Graf , I’d definitely recommend Tahquamenon Falls, the Porkies Mountains, and along Superior to the east of the Porkies and north of the Falls.
