photos of winter backpacking - Manistee River Loop

Just did a winter hike of the Manistee River Loop in northern Michigan.  Has to be one of the prettiest hikes in the midwest.  It's about 20 miles long and I took 5 days to do it in snowshoes.  I would highly recommend this hike.  Only saw 3 other people on the trail.fullsizeoutput_23d9.jpeg1bMy76OgQhG14OkpAyvTqg.jpgkOoBkYmmSoeM2wMWx1i+IQ.jpg

@joycet  x2 to AlmostReady, no water on NCT side.  However I disagree with saying it isn't hilly at all.  If you start the NCT side at Red Bridge (Coate's Highway) working towards the foot bridge west of Seaton Creek, most of the NCT side is uphill.  The MRT side only has a couple of climbs, a couple are steep but not long like NCT.  Wife and I have done this a few times and now we just do MRT one-way, going from Seaton Creek to Red Bridge, then back along MRT, entirely skipping NCT.
