Running Shoe Recommendation for someone new to running.

I’m looking for help getting the right running shoe. I started running 3 months ago. I recently got tendinitis in my left ankle after I doubled my run from 3 mile to 6 mile one day, and the dr had me take a break from running for 3 weeks. I started back with another 3 mile yesterday, and it felt like it was happening in my right ankle this time. Does REI employ anyone with expertise in the area of correct running shoe fitment?

@JHKR Thanks for reaching out!

We're sorry you're experiencing pain while you run. While your doctor is always the right choice for diagnosing any pain you're feeling, we do have some resources that can help you with fitting running shoes. We recommend starting with the Expert Advice article, How to Choose Running Shoes. There is a lot of good information in there about the different kinds of shoes and how the fit may affect your performance. Additionally, we recommend booking a free virtual outfitting appointment with one of our product experts. That way to can talk with someone one-on-one through any issues or questions you may have.

Hope this helps, thanks!
