injuries and running

Fractured knee cap in half 3 months ago and want to run again. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting back to it

without losing balance and getting rid of fear? Thanks!

Thanks very much. Great ideas.

Yes, have spoken to doctor-maybe treadmill would be best. The great outdoors may be better to wait!

All the best to you and thanks again for your time.

@tcash I think just trying some short runs would be a good way to dispel some of your anxieties/fears. You won't know until you try, right?

But first -- TALK to a medical provider, particularly a sports medicine professional if you can get a referral. He/she should be able to help you develop a game plan, such as a gentle reintroduction to running. I've never had a fractured kneecap, but I am sure I'd be talking to my doctor before starting any strenuous exercise.
