My daughter and son-in-law wanted to camp and mountain bike over vacation. So 5 of us, and two young grandkids, camped at BIG BEAR CAMPLANDS, WV (bigbearwv.com) which has an excellent trail system right out of the camp site. Also location of Dirtrag magazine's Dirt Fest. Beautiful camp sites with RV accommodations and tent platforms build among tall trees and moss covered rocks. Trails through tall trees and ferns with interesting terrain like the Crack trail which includes descending through cracks in boulders the size of small buildings. Trails are great to hike, but may be very difficult for beginning mountain bikers. These are true mountain trails, not typical sanitized community park trails. The Voodoo trail is the ultimate ride challenge. Enjoy!!
