How do I correctly size my dog for dog boots?

How do I measure my dog's feet for boots? We live in SWFL and she insists on walking on the pavement. I am worried about scorching her pads. She is a Jack Russell/Chihuahua (rescue dog).

Thanks for reaching out!

For the Ruffwear boots we carry, they provide a sizing sheet. You can find it as one of the images on the product page and we'll post it for you here. You'll want to keep a couple of things in mind when fitting your dog:

  1. Make sure you take the measurement when the foot is weighted. This can be the difference between a dog who learns to walk with boots on and a dog who fights them all the time. If there isn't room for their toes to splay a little bit, boots can be very uncomfortable.
  2. You'll want to measure both the front feet and back feet as often times they can be two different sizes. At REI we only sell the boots in sets of 4, however, Ruffwear also sells them in pairs on their website.

Hopefully this helps, thanks!
