Trails near NYC for a 3 year old?

Hi! I am looking for easy trails for me and my 3 year old. We do alot of nature preserves and botanical gardens but I would like something more rustic. She likes to walk everything herself and we do not use a carrier. I would say the max is about 2 hours outside of NYC.

Oh I have some favorites!

Rockafeller State Park Preserve - beautiful, with a tiny active farm that kids love.

Harraman State Park - lot's of views and great trails.

Anthony's Nose - accross from Bear Mt.  Great hike with a great view at the end.

Bronx Botanical Garden (if you haven't already been) - fantastic for wandering, mild trail running, and letting kids explore.

If you want more suggestions reach out to your local Yonkers REI.  We have a ton more to get you and your little one outside!  🙂

Have fun out there!
