Join the Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards (SAWS), midshipmen from the Naval Academy, and the Back Country Horsemen of America (BCHA) on Saturday, August 3 - Sunday, August 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as they remove an old fire grate, picnic table, and privy structure from the Raccoon Branch Wilderness.
Join for both days or just one and enjoy a refreshing treat afterward. The project is mildly strenuous, with a couple of miles of hiking and lifting required.
Please be sure to wear long pants and sturdy boots. Bring plenty of water (2-3 liters at least) and snacks for the day, a lunch, sunscreen, bug spray, and a rain jacket.
