I'm happy to help with any Yosemite questions!

I live near airport (FAT). In case you planning a trip to Yosemite, let me know if you need help on any kind 🙂

We have a REI nearby too.

Happy trail

Here's one I've been asked near the Visitor Center:

How much does the elevator to the top of Half Dome cost?

Nevada Falls

@Ana-hikes - How much snow can one expect if trying to hike up Yosemite falls?

I found quite a bit in early April 3 years ago.  The way up the lower was bare, but the upper was completely snow covered partially because the upper generates its own snow (see pic). Needed crampons and poles.  No idea the current conditions, hopefully Anna knows.

I went February up to Nevada fall and there was some. During winter Hetch Hetchy road is closed anyways.

This year again we're facing another drought.

Love Yosemite!  Glad to know we have an insider.

Yes, I don't live very far. Last year we had fire and toxic airflow. I'm hoping this summer it goes all well.

Me too, coming for August, have been beaten back twice by smoke. Unfortunately as one, uh, “matures” smoke becomes a very real breathing problem.

Last summer they closed the trail that goes up Illouette  (sp?) Creek from glacier point.   I had a permit and left the trailhead at 8:00am and they closed it later that morning.  The air was orange all week.  The area above the treeline on the pass that goes to Washburn Lake was filled with an erie orange fog that made it seem like hikeing on Mars.   I wondered way I did not see even one other person for days and then when back at the car noticed the "closed" sign.  Because of the lack of hikers, the animals were out. I saw a few bears and was able to watch one for over an hour.  Normally animals avoid the areas near trails.   The smoke was anoying but not dence enough to be a breathing issue.
