Why are Las Vegas REIs still closed and not offering roadside pickup?

On 9 May, Nevada's Governor, Steve Sisolak, authorized most retail businesses to reopen albeit with some stipulations, e.g., masks for employees, etc. So, I'm wondering why the Las Vegas area REIs remain closed and aren't offering curbside service for their members?

Thank you,

@rfhall thanks for reaching out about the status of our REI stores in the Las Vegas area. There are 4 factors we are using to determine where we can reopen customer-facing services:

  • The co-op's ability to ensure a set of detailed health and safety protocols
  • Local community readiness and sentiment
  • Federal, state and local guidelines and restrictions
  • Facility and team operational readiness

We are really eager to reengage with our customers at all stores across the country, and as soon as we are able to meet all 4 of these factors in the Las Vegas area, you will see us begin to offer services. Please stay tuned to our curbside pickup and local store pages for updates!

At REI, we believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived.
