Which hiking boots are better for wider feet?

@ClaudiaC thanks for reaching out; we've actually had lots of folks reaching out about good brands for wide feet! There are some important details that will influence what we recommend, including (1) where will you be hiking (warm/cold? wet/dry?), (2) how many miles you intend to cover on average, (3) will you carry a pack and if yes, how much weight will it add, (4) details about your feet, other than width, like volume, shape, trouble spots. Without knowing some of those details, our recommendations will be high level based simply on brands that run wide - you'll then want to hone in on specific features based on the questions above, like picking a waterproof (or not) boot.

  • Lowa, specifically in the Renegade model
  • Keen, specifically in the Targhee model
  • Hoka One One, specifically the Stinson model
  • Altra, specifically the Lone Peak model

Hope that gets you started! Our stores are starting to reopen across the country, and we also offer free virtual outfitting appointments, if you wanted to consult with an employee before purchasing!
