Went on a lovely hike today and I knew it was off to a great start when I parked beside this vehicle:
it was overcast but that usually means it’s not too cold.

@REI-JohnJ *Very* thin. Most of the creek was still open. It’s been really warm here in Chicagoland. Even the snow was really slushy by mid morning. Got a better workout than I was anticipating 🤣
I haven't seen any ice yet (super warm here in Seattle) but I need to remind myself that I'm not in Alaska any more. In the winter up there the waterways in summer become highways for fat-tire bikes, dog mushers, skiers, and snow-machines. By this time it's likely safe to drive your car out onto the ice in Fairbanks!
