I will be in Salt Lake City in early December and will have one day to hike before my evening flight. I was just wondering if the Lake Blanche trail will be covered in snow or icy, ect., and whether or not it will be doable without spikes.

There is snow now so there will likely be snow in December. I would bring spikes. Also, keep in mind that all cars going into the canyon as of Oct 1 must have approved snow tires. Depending on the road conditions, the canyon may be restricted to 4 wheel drive or chains only.
