Hiking in Portland Shoe Advice.

So I’m coming from AZ and moving to OR. I want advice on staying dry while hiking. I have adequate rain jackets and pants but the shoe thing is the sticking point. I love trail runners and hate boots. I have wide toes and most of the waterproof trail runners are narrower. I know that Altra, Lems and Xero have waterproof shoes with wide toe boxes, but I wonder if there are other options. Or maybe, there is something else entirely I should consider. Thanks for the advice.

Right now the temps n Portland are exceeding 100 F  You should feel right at home.

When it is fairly warm, i feel fine in lighter foot gear and just let the feet dry on the fly.  When it is cooler, a well maintained  pair of leather boots isabout the only option..
