@Walker

Great topic! I know @Philreedshikes is going to have some real winners so I'm going to get this photo in before his put mine to shame! This photo belongs to my wife, who is way cooler than I am, on a climb of Mt. Rainier a couple of years ago. Thanks for starting this thread!

I’ll take “Things that make you go gulp” for $1000.  Now those are some well exposed ladders 🙂

@Walker - What a spectacular post. It is so fun to see what everyone is sharing!

@Philreedshikes, your last photo of the sliver of rock between what looks like super slippery ice definitely catches my eye. Exciting times for sure!

I love coming across weathered stairs out in nature. They always make me incredibly thankful for the trail builders who put in the work to build them! As for using aid ladders out on steep rock, it's a more love/hate relationship!

@nathanu, you recently posted about the 604 stairs to start your Hightower hike. Do you have any photos to share of that section of trail or any other stairs/ladders that stand out from your hikes?

At REI, we believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived.

I'm desperately trying to forget those stairs 🙂

I just checked though and I don't have any pictures of them
