Unfortunately, there really isn't an easy way to add padded hip and shoulder straps - if you are innovative and can sew, you might be able to figure something out, but we don't have an easy solution for this request. If you're willing to do an exchange, you might consider the Osprey Talon 22 or Tempest 20 or the Gregory Miwok 18 or Maya 16. Let us know if you have any additional questions!
