I cross country camped for two months and enjoyed having my car sleeping mattress in the car for when I was too tired to set up camp. So making sure you have one that fits is important. It was better than sleeping in hotels and a great thing to collapse onto when returning from backcountry. Also, I had separate boxes for mess kit/kitchen, toiletries, and camping to keep things organized. Plus a duffle for clothes + laundry bag. And a larger cooler that fit in the back well the top of the mattress laid over and a smaller cooler up front for drinks and that day’s food.
