Alaska Roadless Rule
Thank you, thank you, REI, for taking a stand on the Alaska Roadless Rule and supporting Alternative 1, No Action. Any of the other alternatives would result in new old-growth logging in various degrees in the Tongass National Forest, especially Alternative 6. Alternative 6—supported by Alaska Governor Dunleavy, the Alaska congressional delegation, Trump, and Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Purdue, would FULLY EXEMPT Alaska from the Roadless Rule and open up to 9.2 million acres of the Tongass, all of which is protected in the current Roadless Rule, to industrial old-growth logging, road building, mining, and development.
Again, thank you REI.
