The Accokeek Foundation is hosting a series of guided nature hikes this fall in Piscataway Park, a national park on the Maryland shore of the Potomac River. Led by an educator, the hikes focus on topics like plant and animal IDs, wild edible plants, and the history of the landscape in the park. These walks are perfect for families looking to escape the hustle and bustle of DC and hit the trail together (without having to roam too far from home!).
Cost is $5/person, and can be booked online ahead of time.
