I have been looking at the online specs on some of your bikes but I do not see any weight limits. Which bikes/brands do you recommend for someone who is overweight, over 200 pounds, and is short, only 5'0"?
@njazgirl Thanks for reaching out!
Most bike brands don't list their weight limits with their bike specs, however, generally the bikes we carry start around 250 lbs and go up from there. As an example, almost all Co-op Cycles bikes are rated for a rider plus gear weight of 300 lbs. You will see some variability depending on the style of bike you are looking at (road vs mountain bike, as an example). That being said, we should have several good options for you!
Based on your height, you are going to be looking for an XS frame size, which typically fits someone 5'0" - 5'3". Here are a couple of bikes we have in stock in that size:
- Co-op Cycles DRT 1.1. This bike also comes in a DRT 1.0 model, which is technically a XXS that fits a height range of 4'9"-5'0" if you are interested in a little smaller frame.
- Co-op Cycles CTY 1.1 Step Through bike.
- Cannondale Althea 3 Women's Bike. Cannondale's size chart indicates that an XS frame fits a person 4'10"-5'2".
- Salsa Journeyman Claris 700 Bike. The 50cm size (the smallest) fits 5'0".
Hopefully this helps get you started! Did you have a particular style of bike you were looking for?Please circle back with us if you have other questions, thanks!
