Typically, when you buy on REI.com and ship the items to an REI location, the store will hold them for ~2 weeks before cancelling the order and restocking the items to the sales floor. In your situation, we would recommend placing your order(s) and once you have email confirmation that they have arrived in the store you shipped to, call the store and speak with a member of our customer service team. They should be able to work with you to ensure your orders are confirmed and waiting for you when you arrive in the United States. Hope this helps!
