Hi, I am interested in the Garmin computers to use with Adventure Cycling's digital maps. There seem to be many varieties and I'm wondering the difference between models and what you would recommend? Thank you!

@Monica_Quesnell Thanks for reaching out!
You are correct that there are several varieties of Garmin bike computers, we'll do our best to help talk through the differences between some of the more popular models. In order to make an informed recommendation, it would be helpful to know more about you as a rider and how you plan to use the computer. Are you a mountain biker? Bike tourer? Bike packer? Road cyclist? Are you looking to use the map for navigation? Training for a competition? What region of the world are you hoping to ride in? Some of the differences between these computers can seem small but make a big difference depending on what your plans are. Any more detail you can give us about you and your bike will help us make an informed recommendation.
At REI we carry four models of the Garmin Edge line of bike computers:
If you're interested in fitness and training, all of the above come in a 'bundle' version that includes a heart rate monitor.
Hopefully this helps differentiate between some of the models carried by REI. Please reach back out if you have any other questions. Thanks!
