Questions about the Co-op Cycles ADV 3.1: which pedals, brifters, and tires will fit?

HI:

Just ordered an ADV 3.1 and it's being delivered. -:)

I have few questions:

1) will these PEDALS fit? https://www.rei.com/product/152870/bontrager-line-elite-mtb-platform-pedals

or these: https://www.rei.com/product/151648/issi-thump-pedals?sku=1516480001

Asking because the pedals have different diameters on thier axles. I dont have the bike yet so cannot tell.

2) What  "Brifters" (like this one: https://www.rei.com/product/182389/shimano-105-st-5700-shiftbrake-lever could fit?

I'm a bit concerned about the bar end shifters hitting my knees on this bike. Was hoping to upgrade in future.

3) Will any 650B tire fit this bike?

We're so stoked for you to get your new bike, how exciting!

1. Both of those pedals should fit your bike as they are both 9/16ths.
2. We'll have to check in with one of our bike techs on this question, we'll circle back here in the community when we get more information.
3. The Co-op Cycles ADV 3.1 can take up to a 55mm 650b tire. There may be some variability depending on the manufacturer.

The shifters you asked about are not compatible with the Co-op Cycles ADV 3.1. This bike uses Shimano Deore Derailleurs in order to achieve suitable low gearing for adventure touring. Shimano mountain derailleurs are not compatible with Shimano road shifters. If you find that you are experiencing issues with the shifters on your ADV 3.1, your best bet would be to connect with your local REI bike shop to discuss which options might be able to work for this bike. You may want to consider a flat bar setup with MTB shifters and brake levers, however, you'll need to find a compatible lever with the correct amount of throw in the shifter. You'll want to ask the bike tech to determine if that product exists on the market currently.
