Men's bike jersey sizing

What's the deal with Rapha - does their stuff run extra, extra small? I'm an L in Pearl Izumi, though an M in regular cotton t-shirts from places like from Uniqlo, etc.

I guess bike jerseys are meant to be fitted, which I'm fine with, but is it me or are all the brands meant for guys who are all legs and no upper body ... or what?!

My experience suggests that it depends on the country of origin. European brands run small, North American brands run bigger. Pearl Izumi and Garneau are both NA brands that fit North American body styles with traditional sizing.  Products such as Assos require "super sizing". So I may be typically a Large Pearl Izumi, but an XXL for Assos....

Garneau actually has different "fits" to correspond to different body styles.

Slim, Standard, Relaxed, Men, Women, Tri, Cycling, Mountain.

Peal Izumi my have as well.

Got it and makes sense - thanks for taking the time to share! Much appreciated. Happy biking!
