How to adjust handle bar height

I just bought

Co-op Cycles CTY 1.1 Bike size XL

The handlebar height is super low and I would like to raise them.

What are my options?

Can I get a new higher assembly?  I believe I did this on an older Trek bike

@Bpewing Thanks for reaching out!

We believe the part you are looking for is a stem raiser. Take a look at this one, the Delta Cycle Alloy Stem Raiser. You'll want to take into consideration the length of your cables and housing, as sometimes raising the stem will require you lengthen them. Although it is about a kid's bike, this thread, Riser for kids handlebars, has some more good information regarding this item as well.

Hope this helps!

I am 6'2" and got L when I should have bought the XL.  I've been over the handle bars a couple times because they are too low.  How can I raise or replace them?

@DavidPLane

Thanks for reaching out, although we're sorry to hear you're having this issue with your bike.

While the Delta Cycle Alloy Stem Raiser should work with your bike, you'll want to speak with your local REI bike shop about compatibility and the appropriate fit of your bike for the style of riding you are doing (i.e. are you riding on pavement? technical singletrack?). Additionally, you'll want to think about the length of your cables and housing when raising the stem, as you may need to replace them with ones that can accommodate the added length. Your bike shop can also help with that if needed.

Hopefully this helps!
