Climbing shoe sole split - what to do?

I purchased the La Sportiva Tarantulace Climbing Shoes, used them once, and the sole split open like this.  How should I go about getting this fixed? is this something that warrants returning? would you pay for shipping? or should I just figure this out on my own.

Hi @vc - Thanks for reaching out, though we're sorry it's because your climbing shoes have split.

If you have purchased these from REI within the last year and would like to return them, they should be covered under our 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not able to return the shoes to a local REI, you would need to cover shipping on the return.

If you would like to go about fixing these specific shoes, there are numerous companies that perform those services. If you let us know what area you are in, we could help you look for local options. Rock and Resole is also as a good place to reach out for repairs. They accept shoes sent in via the mail in addition to drop-offs at their Boulder, CO location.

Hopefully this helps!
