Join us on January 10th at 8pm central time to listen in on a presentation by Matthew C Johnson and Gregg Kane about the work they are doing in the remote Ullukhurzuk Valley at the base of Mount Elbrus, one of the seven summits.
This project aims to accomplish dual interlocking goals. The foundation wishes to provide alpinists from around the world with greater access to the most beautiful of routes on Elbrus, while simultaneously bringing sustainable and culturally sensitive economic development to the people living and working below the mountain.
Our mission is to promote interest in the sport and craft of mountaineering, foster fellowship among climbers of the Chicago/Midwest area, disseminate mountaineering knowledge and information, develop skill in the climbing techniques of its Members, and sponsor local practice outings and periodic western outings.
