Does REI repair tents (broken zipper) or advise if it's not worth it to fix?
Hi @Brianjones62 - Thanks for reaching out, though we're sorry to hear it's because your tent's zipper broke.
REI doesn't offer a zipper repair service, but you can take a look at our Expert Advice article on How to Fix a Zipper to see if it would be worth the supplies and time for you to make the repair. You could also take your tent into your local REI and see if the team there can help.
Let us know if you have any additional questions and we'll be happy to help!
What is the value to you of the tent in question? For any but the most rudimentary of tents, it is probably worth replacing the zipper. It is even a DIY project, if you have a sewing machine, and until then three or four safety pins will keep things together.
If you don't want to DIY it you could also try a place that fixes clothes and other stuff. We have a place where I live that has repaied snow pants, boots, and replaced a zipper on a small bag for me Don't know if there is a place like that near you. If there is, they might be able to fix it.
Look into getting it repaired, then decide how much you like the tent.
