We've all experienced the feeling of getting a great idea for a camping trip over July 4th, Labor Day, or any other popular camping weekend only to have all desireable campsites and areas all booked up. Besides Hipcamp and backpacking, have you all come up with any other creative alternatives to getting outside while avoiding crowds on holiday weekends? I find myself having a harder and harder time motivating myself to get out there during peak seasons, let's get creative.

I totally understand trying to avoid the holiday rush in the popular outdoor areas. I love going to different areas during their off season. Think the beach in Winter.
Living in Washington, I have learned to embrace the weather. I like to pick areas that I know will be rainy. A lot of people avoid gorgeous outdoor spaces due to some rain. I simply throw on my rain gear and get out there!
