We're hearing lots of stories of how folks are blending the lines of indoors/outdoors, specifically by bringing their campsites indoors or finding ways to camp outside at home! We'd love to see and hear about how you've done this, maybe by yourself, maybe with a roommate, maybe with your kids.
Show us those pictures of your "at-home campsites!"
And find some tips here on how to turn your living space into a campsite!
We used our Life inTents bell tent to sleep, play, and learn in our backyard in Portland!

@Brandy21 this is AMAZING! We managed to put our tent up in our living room this weekend, but it wasn't quite as authentic of a set-up as yours!
We had a Tarty! A party in a tent!
@Ksmor a tarty?! Love it!
We have been trying to find ways to have fun indoors ever since this thing has happened and all the state parks, trails, city parks, national parks, camping grounds, etc have been closed. Our goal was to try to visit all the Texas state parks, 5 national parks, & hike a portion of 1 of the Thru hikes all within two years. We were on a great start and then all of this happened... So we have spent our time upgrading our gear with all of the great sales that REI has had lately, and watching videos online planning our itinerary for when we are given the go ahead!
When we saw the national camp at home post on several websites, we decided to jump on in! We had so much fun grilling out on our small patio, roasting marshmallows, and setting up a pretty neat “campsite” in our living room. We were able to re-organize our gear, even played a couple of our camp board games that we have never played before, and then enjoyed a nice movie before calling it a night! In fact we had so much fun doing it, we have decided to do it at least once a month to break up times between our trips & to get more use out of gear that we may not use as much anymore!
Thanks for the fun idea!
We look forward to more fun ideas to enjoy our outdoor hobbies while we’re going through all of this!
@XplordnCnqrd looks like y'all did a great job making the best of things! Hopefully you'll be able to get back on track with your travel plans sooner rather than later...
Love my backyard, opening up my tent flap to the sunrise!!!
My favorite backyard buddy still sleeping....
....with Cowboy Joe standing guard to the south....
...and My Buddy to the north! Sweet memories for sure!!
Love my ultra-lite cot for this gig! That cot and my comforter makes sleeping on my side no problem!!
@SaltH20Cowgirl love the fully decked out tent with festive lights! Thanks for sharing!
Hey...Thank you!!! And thanks for putting this together and replying. Things get kind of lonely out there!! But somehow you ARE building a sense of community. AND where there is community there is likely to be compassion. AND where there is compassion there is HOPE. AND HOPE TRUMPS SADNESS and FEAR. Great job JenK!!!
Set up the tent in the backyard to camp with my daughter. The weather was forecast to be nice so we left the rain fly off to see the sky. It was a perfect camping trip , even though it started raining and we had to break camp early!
she loved it and can’t wIt to get out backpacking because, in her own words, “being outside in nature is better!”
