Osprey Exos 58 sternum straps

i recently purchased an Osprey Exos 58 and the sternum traps on both sides continuosly fall off.  Is this normal?  This is my first backpack for hiking and something doesnt appear right

someone with this pack should provide an answer, but, in general, sternum straps should not fall off, even occasionally, but should be adjustable to suit your preference. They are a very nice feature, but not absolutely critical.  Many of us packed for miles and miles without sternum straps - the Horror! the Agony!!  We weree unbelievably tough in those days (modest as well).....

I have two Exos 58's, and the straps on both of them are so tight that I have trouble adjusting them up and down. I can't imagine them coming off. I'd say something is wrong with yours. There shouldn't be much tension on them.
