How do I find replacement shoulder straps for an Atmos 65 pack? (large pack needing medium straps)

I was fitted for a Atmos 65 large, but the employee recommended I get medium straps instead of large, at the time she was willing to swap the straps out in the store but I was unable to purchase that day. How do I get different straps when purchasing online, if even possible?

@trevthewebdev Thanks for reaching out!

This is a challenging question as it appears that Osprey is transitioning away from replaceable shoulder harnesses and hip belts in most of their packs. As such, we're going to need a bit more information about the pack you are looking at. It looks like the model of Osprey Atmos 65 pack we currently have on REI.com does not have removable shoulder straps.

The current model of the Osprey Aether 65 backpack has a 'Custom Fit-on-the-fly' adjustment feature on the hip belt and shoulder harness. This means that the shoulder harness is adjustable and therefor does not need to be swapped out to accommodate sizing. There is a video in the link that shows that feature with detail.

We do carry some Osprey Shoulder straps that are available to purchase online, however, they are shoulder straps that go with the older Osprey Aether AG (anti-gravity) and Osprey Argon packs and are not compatible with the current model of Osprey Aether backpacks.

Based on the Osprey website, the only packs they have in their current lineup of backpacks that have replaceable hip belts and shoulder harnesses are the Xena and Xenith packs. It may be that the pack you tried on in the store was a previous year's model of backpack. Any clarification about the pack you are looking at would be helpful in seeing if Osprey offers a replacement shoulder harness for it.

Hopefully this helps, thanks!

Thanks for the response, I fitted for the Atmos AG 65 about 3 weeks ago in store. The rep in the store showed me how the medium straps would work better with my torso / frame. She said when I come back she could switch out the straps but that store sold out of my size within the 3 weeks. I just bought the large pack on your website but in terms of the medium straps the rep told me she could switch out in store, I am not sure what to do there.

Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to us!

It sounds like the best option for you would be to take your new pack into the store and see if you can connect with a pack fit expert to see what your options are.  Based on what we can see with our available resources, it does not look like the shoulder harness of the Osprey Atmos AG 65 is replaceable. Having a sales specialist look at the pack will you know for sure and then make a determination on next steps. You can also schedule a virtual outfitting appointment to speak with a pack fit expert about your new pack.

Hopefully this helps, thanks!
