I'm looking at two different tents for backpacking.
When I looked on the website for "backpacking tents," the REI Co-op Groundbreaker 2 Tent was not on the list, but the REI Co-op Passage 1 Tent with Footprint was. They seem to be pretty comparable, but there is a price difference that matters to me. Would the Groundbreaker 2 be okay for backpacking with?

The Groundbreaker is a great option for those just getting into backpacking as it is easy to pitch, durable, and has ample ventilation. The tent weighs 4 lbs 13 oz for its packed weight, compared to the Passage 2 which is packaged at 5 lbs 2 oz (this includes a footprint, which is not included on the Groundbreaker).
One thing to consider is that the Groundbreaker's packed size in the stuff sack is 22"x7.5", meaning that it's going to be a little long as compared to other backpacking tents which average around 17-18" in packed length. So you'll need to be considerate of the extra length when packing.
Hope this helps!
