Why is there no OPT TO ACT in Los Angeles

Why are there no activities in Los Angeles for the Opt to ACT day?  There are plenty of members and folks that would love a clean up project.

@DavidL thanks so much for the question, and for your interest in participating in Opt To Act! Over the coming weeks, as we finalize plans, we will continue to announce additional clean-up events around the country. As an example, in the LA area, our local teams are working with multiple local non-profits (FOLAR, Santa Monica Mountains Fund, Friends of Joshua Tree, LA Conservation Corp, and more) to organize clean-up events on/around Black Friday. Check in with your local REI store team or stay tuned here for more details!

In addition to the events that we will help organize, our hope with #OptOutside and Opt To Act is that individuals also feel empowered to organize their own clean-up events (here’s how to get started) in the local areas that matter to them, and start to incorporate small changes in their everyday lives. Opt to Act is much more than a single day or clean-up event; it is meant to be a movement that lasts all year long.

At REI, we believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived.

Thanks I look forward to the opportunity to help and meet those with the same values.

@DavidL wanted to circle back and share an update - we have added a bunch more Opt to Act events - you can find them here! Saw a few that are around the broad LA area: here, here, here and here. Hope to see you out there!
