Howdy, if you're looking for a sturdy backpacking tent, I highly recommend looking at the tarp tents website (https://www.tarptent.com/). I have (had) the notch, it's bullet proof! And perfect for carrying on the outside of the pack. I loaned it to my son for our trip the Bridger Wilderness and now he won't give it back!  I would recommend my zpacks duplex, but now after 3yrs, it's leaking like a sieve during all-night rains, and zpacks response is, oh well, it's been 3 yrs....When I paid almost $600, I expect it to last a REALLY LONG time!!!.

So... I took my old reliable REI quarter dome T2, sprayed with water proofing, took it on my recent Iceland Lauga Vegur backpacking trip (https://youtu.be/YkOgDHadfjQ) (shameless plug) stayed bone-dry, but it weighs 3.5lbs.  Good hunting!
